Portraits of Beauty from the Paintbrushes of The Masters

" The camera cannot compete with the brush and the palette so long as
it cannot be used in heaven or hell " -- Edvard Munch

With Munch's quote above, I would like to point out my belief that any physical portrayal of beauty, be it photographic or painted, is lacking if the emotional depth and philosophy behind it is not understood. A depth Hollywood genre of photography is very lacking in...

In this section, I feature great painters history has known who portrayed female beauty. Through the centuries, the concept of the ideal female form and beauty varies. Also, woman has been abased and glorified througout time.

I inaugurate this section by a portrait of Adam and Eve by the German Thinker/Artist Albrecht Dürer. Other painters to be featured are Matisse, Renoire, Picasso, Edvard Munch, Gustav Klimt and others.
